Do your summer plans include SAT or ACT test preparation?

By Huntington Learning Center

  • No matter what high school grade your student is in, there is more time during the summer to focus on test prep without the conflicts of school, homework and extracurricular activities.
  • With summer SAT/ACT prep, students are consistently practicing skills, which will not only prepare them for their big test day but also help them stay sharp for the upcoming school year.
  • Soon-to-be seniors (12th grade) applying to college this fall who need to boost their test scores only have a few upcoming SAT/ACT dates left that provide scores in time for early action or early decision application deadlines. Prepping now will help them perform their best on those upcoming tests dates.
  • For a student who completed Algebra 2 in 10th grade and plans on testing in the fall of junior year (11th grade), now is the time to start preparing. These students should keep their algebra knowledge sharp and focus on skill mastery, which will help with score increases during fall testing.
    • Upcoming 2024 SAT/ACT testing months are:
      • August, October, November and December for the SAT
      • September, October and December for the ACT
  • Students taking the SAT or ACT in the spring of their junior year (11th grade) can start to prep this summer to get a head start on the concepts they will encounter on test day. This is especially important for students that have busy extracurricular fall schedules that could include sports, clubs and organizations, and volunteering.
    • Upcoming 2025 SAT/ACT testing months are:
      • March, May and June for the SAT
      • February, April and June for the ACT
