High School Tutoring Success Story

Nancy was nervous, shy, and self-conscious. Even though she was finishing up her sophomore year of high school, she tested on a 6th grade level. Nancy's main goal in coming to us was to become a special education teacher. She did not want other kids to be treated the way she was.

Upon entering her junior year of high school, Nancy’s guidance counselor convinced her mother to send her to a vocational school for a year after graduation to gain the skills to become a secretary.

Nancy came to us in tears, stating that she did not want to become a secretary and that she knew she would make a great teacher. We met with her and her mother and came up with a plan.

Nancy completed high school and began attending Huntington Learning Center. Starting at a 2nd grade level, she has now moved on to high school level skills and is currently working on the HLC writing program. She still aspires to become a teacher, and is eager to enter college to pursue a teaching degree. Mom and Nancy both feel that if it wasn't for Huntington Learning Center, her goals would have never come to flourish.
