Accreditation

We also strive for a great report card. Huntington Learning Centers, Inc. has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools since 1996.

Accreditation is the process by which groups of educational institutions and practitioners identify those institutions that meet or exceed commonly accepted standards of educational quality. Accreditation is affirmation by peers that an educational organization is what it declares it is and does what it declares it does, in accordance with the standards set by its academic peers. In short, accreditation assures the public of the organization's integrity. In order to achieve this status, Huntington was required to cite evidence of meeting the Twelve Standards of Accreditation for Corporations; complete a Self-Study based on four areas, including educational delivery model and quality control; and participate in an on-site review by a visiting team. The visiting team then certified that Huntington had met the twelve standards as of 1996. Huntington has been re-accredited every five years thereafter.

In addition to the corporate-level accreditation, most Huntington Learning Centers have received individual accreditation status through regional accrediting associations. These associations include the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Many of our centers have been accredited for over ten years, and most others are in the process of becoming accredited in the near future.

In order to achieve individual Center accreditation, a Huntington Center must be in compliance with all Huntington and MSA/WASC standards, and have been in operation for at least one year. The process involves a Self-Study by the Center, an on-site evaluation by a selected group of peers, and a decision by MSA or WASC about the candidate meeting its standards for accreditation. Upon accreditation, the Center receives an Accreditation Certificate to be displayed in the Center, as recognition of its official accredited status
